My.Story ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our journaling application.

My.Story is developed by Really Gouda. By using My.Story, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Journal Entries & Personal Data

Your journal entries, including text, photos, and videos you add, are stored locally on your device and synced to your personal iCloud account if you enable iCloud sync. We do not have access to your journal content.

Account Information

If you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique identifier and optionally your name and email address (depending on your choices during sign-in). This information is used solely for authentication and account management.

Voice Data

When you use voice journaling, speech recognition is performed on-device using Apple's Speech Recognition framework. Your voice data is processed locally and is not transmitted to our servers.

Location Data

With your permission, we may access your location to provide personalized weather information that adds context to your journal entries. Location data is only used for weather lookups and is not stored or shared.

Usage Analytics

We may collect anonymous usage data to improve the app experience. This includes app crashes, feature usage patterns, and general device information. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the My.Story service
• To personalize your experience with thoughtful prompts and quotes based on your entries
• To sync your data across your devices via iCloud
• To send you notifications and reminders (with your permission)
• To improve our app and develop new features

Data Storage & Security

Your journal entries are stored locally on your device using secure SQLite databases. If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your personal iCloud Drive container, protected by Apple's security measures.

We use industry-standard security practices to protect any data that passes through our services. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

Third-Party Services

My.Story uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase: For authentication and optional analytics
• RevenueCat: For subscription management
• OneSignal: For push notifications
• Content Services: For generating personalized prompts, quotes, and mood analysis. Journal content sent to these services is not stored or used for training purposes.

Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing their use of data.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data (your journal entries are always accessible within the app)
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your journal entries
• Opt out of analytics collection
• Control notification preferences

Children's Privacy

My.Story is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
